SiliconBeat has the scoop on the new Friendster classifieds community for the Phillipines, Pusit. Is it just me or does that page resemble a get-rich-quick parked domain, right down to the font? When I first arrived, I assumed SiliconBeat had gotten the link wrong.

Not just you!
That’s a *really* bad design.

Yep, looks just like all the other ’search portals’ sites that get stuck to your IE from spyware infections.
Then again, the layout is clean, simple and straightfoward. We should not just a design on the basis of its similarity to designs which are associated with shady companies.

Err, that would be “We should not just judge a design on the basis of its similarity to designs which are associated with shady companies.”
I hate guest posting :(

The sad thing is, that isn’t even a bad design–just one that happens to have been co-opted by domain campers. I’m not even sure what they could change to fix it…

I don’t see anything wrong with the design. What’s the problem with the site?

I don’t really think the design sucks. I checked out the site and its nice. Usability and features are more important to me. You don’t just judge a site by its font or color. A design should be simple and functional. Sorry…maybe because I am not shallow or I tend to think more before I post my opinions.
Its ok to post subjective comments about a website. But given the level of detail that was given, I think that the article where not really thought of. A few brain-cycles will do. I just hope people should be smart enough to help each other out and stop pulling each other down. Crab mentality really sucks. Being ethical doesn’t require a Ph.d. degree anyway. I hope my comment will help enlighten your heads dudes =)

*Very* non-creative. It’s 2005 guys.
Often, I quickly close tabs or windows with those site designs, sparing a “few brain-cycles” to think it could be a mistyped URL.
