Microsoft recently launched two ad campaigns to breathe new life into its flagship businesses, Windows and Office.
The first, called StartSomething, tells customers to get Windows XP and begin a new journey using 2001 technology.
The second, called Evolve, tells customers (represented as dinosaurs) to stop using ancient Office technology and upgrade.
I’m not sure which message I’d choose, though. The first encourages people to get technology that’s already on the chopping block, and the second insults people by calling them dinosaurs. I haven’t seen the StartSomething campaign yet, but Evolve is just embarrassingly bad.
